Common Sights seeks to provide premium and timeless everyday essentials for everyone—without the retail markup.

Beginning with our first collection, a line of sunglasses, our vision is that you should no longer have to compromise on price or quality when shopping for the essentials you wear and use every day.

To do that, we have partnered with a factory in Wenzhou, China (a city known for its optical production capabilities) that uses raw materials sourced from Switzerland and France. For over 30 years, they have produced glasses and sunglasses for dozens of high-end brands in the US, Europe, and Japan.

What's the difference between us and those brands? We sell directly to you without the typical retail markups. This lets us deliver savings on products that still have the quality to be backed by our lifetime warranty—no compromises. 

Whether you're working a 9-to-5, making your way through school, or pursuing your own venture, our goal is to continue building out a diverse line of essential accessories that you are proud to use in your everyday life. We will always strive to achieve our mission statement—to provide everyday essentials for everyone. We aim to create products that are attainable and affordable for all—no matter who you are.

More about our founders

College friends and Uber alums, Leon Dong and Mary Chau found a shared passion for quality, minimalist fashion at affordable prices. Plus, they realized there was a need for sunglasses that actually fit most heads. They couldn't find an accessories brand that shared this vision or solved this problem—so they decided to start their own. Combining their design, marketing, and technology backgrounds with decades of family experience in the sunglasses industry, Common Sights was born in June of 2017 and publicly launched in March of 2018.
